Introducing our new division: DB3 Net Zero

We are delighted to announce the launch of DB3 Net Zero – a new division which helps the construction industry achieve the UK’s 2050 net zero targets.

According to The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Whole Life Carbon Roadmap, the construction industry currently contributes to 25% of the UK’s carbon emissions and 40% of the UK’s carbon footprint.

Our aim is to be a force for change in decarbonising the construction sector through our DB3 Net Zero consultancy services which consists of our in-house mechanical & electrical engineers, architects, energy assessors, Passivhaus designers and sustainability experts who already have many years of experience under their belt.

Launch through volunteering

Launch through volunteering

As part of our DB3 Net Zero launch on the 21st July, Nathan, Nassia, Matt, Charlotte and Hemal volunteered with Manchester City of Trees at Park Wood in Wythenshawe.

During their Green Recovery Challenge Woodland Management Day, our team worked incredibly hard on improving the pathways throughout the woodland, where some of the oldest trees are believed to date back until the mid-1700s.

Through their volunteering work our team have contributed towards bringing this green area of Manchester back to its former glory and supported the habitat for the native flora and fauna.

Our suite of Net Zero consultancy services is broken down into six categories which cover topics around:

  • Carbon – whole life carbon, operational carbon and embodied carbon
  • Efficiency of buildings and how to make improvements
  • Passivhaus (also referred to as Passive House) design and training
  • Wellbeing of the building users and social impact on surrounding communities
  • Performance of buildings in use
  • Compliance with building regulations

“We all have an obligation to change our behaviours and adapt to new ways of thinking. As designers we are in a position to make a real and measurable change and achieving Net Zero Carbon targets must be our highest priority.”
