Richard is a fully qualified architect with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. With a strong design aspiration and solid technical understanding, he has successfully delivered a number of award-winning buildings.

Throughout his career, he has worked in many of the traditional architectural sectors and has acted as a technical advisor on complex science and engineering projects. Over the last several years, Richard has specialised in delivering complex science and engineering buildings for both public and private sector clients.

Richard is particularly interested in buildings that focus on research and innovation. This interest spans specific building requirements, new ways of working, new research, and challenging collaborative projects. Recently, Richard has worked with several higher education providers and local/national governments to develop innovation centres.

Richard dedicates his time to supporting educational facilities through lecturing, tutoring, and external examinations for architecture and built environment courses. Recently, he acted as an external examiner for Cardiff Metropolitan University and has mentored several undergraduate students over the past several years.

Outside of work, Richard is a passionate storyteller and maker, combining these interests in various areas, including theatre, art, and writing. He runs his own theatre troupe, which puts on several productions throughout the year, and participates in writing for other groups. As a model maker, Richard has won several awards for both realistic and fantastical model-making, including large-scale installation projects and more traditional diorama works.
