Taking place from the 20th to 22nd May, this year’s UKREiiF is set to bring the biggest names in property investment and infrastructure to Leeds. We’re excited to welcome our industry partners to the region and look forward to a productive week of networking and connecting with contacts from across the country.
The annual conference brings together regional combined authorities, local councils, government departments, investors, developers, and end-users to explore key themes including sustainable design, transformative investment, and inclusive regeneration.

With the introduction of the Building Safety Act 2023, we are guiding clients through the challenges of remediating their high risk buildings (HRBs) to align with current building regulations. The UK Government’s 2027 objectives have put more pressure on asset owners and there is no time to waste. Working on the largest residential remediation project in Europe has provided us with first hand insight into the challenges of fulfilling the upgrades required. Many estate owners are exploring their options for decarbonisation. We have found that the decisions for this are a mixture of desire to improve sustainability and a feeling of obligation. Often, the suggestions offered to reduce carbon emissions and energy usage are costly and, in some cases, not fit for purpose. These unnecessary demands on assets can sometimes result in a worse solution. With the UK Government’s impending changes to Commercial EPCs, our Building Services Engineering team are guiding clients towards the best options to upgrade their estates. Up until 2024 there was a steady decline in the UK’s power demand. However, between now and 2030 it is predicted that the UK’s energy consumption will increase by 50% and by 2050 it will have increased by 100%. The result of a more electrified world through increasing electric vehicle use, a potential sixfold rise in data centre power usage, and reducing the reliance of gas for heating in homes. So what is the future of power generation and who will be the winners and losers of this power struggle?

On Tuesday, Luma Marketing & Mansell Building Solutions will be leading the roundtable discussion ‘Joining Forces to Reinvigorate Housing Delivery’. Associate Director, Antony Hall will be in attendance to discuss the pressing issues in housing, and how these can be addressed.

The Building Safety Act (BSA) is aimed at improving safety in the construction industry. As of October 2023, this legislation applies to all construction projects under building control, not just high-risk buildings (HRB).
