Welcoming Our New Business Development Manager
DB3 is pleased to welcome Business Development Manager, Laura Shepherd, to the team. Laura joins our Strategic Growth team, where she will play a key role in driving business growth and strengthening client relationships.
Laura has worked in Business Development and Account Management for over 25 years. Prior to joining DB3, Laura worked in the civils sector, working with delivery partners such as Mace, BAM Nuttall, Sir Robert McAlpine, Atkins, Mott McDonald and Siemens.
“I’m delighted to join DB3 and work alongside such a talented team to build on our collective experience and strong client relationships. My focus is on creating new, mutually beneficial opportunities by staying close to our clients and partners. I believe that face to face conversations remain one of the most effective ways to uncover needs, inspire ideas and drive meaningful outcomes.
As we continue to grow, I’ll be placing particular emphasis on expanding our presence in the Energy, Data Centre and High Risk Building sectors. At the same time, I’m committed to ensuring that clients recognise the full breadth of DB3’s offer, not only our architectural expertise, but also our engineering capability and wider professional services. My aim is to help position DB3 as a trusted, multidisciplinary partner that delivers precision, innovation and long term value.”
Strengthening Client Relationships and Market Presence
Strengthening Client Relationships and Market Presence
Working closely with our Business Development Director, Charlotte Scaife, Laura is focusing on developing opportunities in target markets and nurturing relationships with key clients, ensuring those opportunities support the short and long term business plan.
Business Development Director, Charlotte Scaife said “I’ve known Laura for many years and I’m delighted to have her in the team. She will play a pivotal role in supporting our business plan, driving business growth forward.”
Life Outside Work
Life Outside Work
Outside of work, Laura’s usually exploring with her family and dogs. She’s a big reader (anything by Richard Osman) and a self confessed foodie, as long as mushrooms and baked beans aren’t involved. Give her good cheese, a glass of red wine and a sharp sense of humour and she’s happy.
Why Laura Chose DB3
Why Laura Chose DB3
“Although my most recent role was outside the industry, earlier in my career I worked in civils, so the built environment isn’t new to me. I’ve missed it, and joining DB3 felt like the right way back in. DB3 is one of the UK’s leading practices and being part of the AJ100 says a lot about its credibility and consistency. What drew me in most is the breadth of expertise under one roof, architecture, building services engineering and professional services, which means we can support clients in a far more joined up way.”
What Drives Laura as a Business Development Manager
What Drives Laura as a Business Development Manager
“I’m naturally chatty and genuinely enjoy talking to people, which helps in a BDM role. I’m comfortable engaging with anyone, whether that’s a project manager, a director or someone brand new to the industry. I love spotting opportunities and figuring out where we can add real value, not just ticking a pipeline box. Relationship building is a big one for me too, keeping in touch, following up, remembering the small things and actually nurturing those connections.”
